Our partnership with local schools

We are passionate about all ages being involved in church, and we aspire to nurture faith grow as well as ensuring children and young people feel like they belong at Trinity Churches as part of God’s amazing family.

There are lots of different ways we put this into practice. We work very closely with Meole Brace Church of England Primary School, and enjoy the rich partnership in the local community that gives us. We conduct weekly assemblies and regular lessons in local primaries in the parish, as well as continuing involvement in Meole Brace and other local schools.

Meole Brace Church of England School

Meole Brace Church of England Primary and Nursery is situated immediately next door to Meole Brace Church, and we have very strong and ongoing links with the school. Judith Clarkson is chaplain to the school, and alongside weekly assemblies enjoys many other opportunities to support the school in its Christian ethos, and its vision to “let your light shine.” Phil Cansdale as vicar is on the governing body alongside two other “Foundation Governors” from Church.

Weekly School Assemblies

A team from Trinity Churches host regular assemblies in Meole Brace Primary, and Radbrook Primary. Using drama, song and story they retell some of the best bits of the Bible and connect them to daily life for the children. They also have a lot of fun!

School Prayers

A group of parents and church members meet weekly during school time to pray for the life of the school and their families. You'd be really welcome to join us, or to ask us to pray for something...

Prayer Space

Most years we host a week of ``prayer spaces`` in the primary school, where every child in the school has time and space to engage in the journey of prayer and talking to God. Brimming with creativity and amazing ideas, recent years have included a gigantic art installation and getting to grips with the Lord's Prayer.

EXPLORING - learning together

Our aim is to help every child at school in the parish to experience something of the Christian faith, and the big story of Jesus. Pupils come and participate in regular events and services at Holy Trinity. And three times a year large groups of children come and explore harvest, Easter and Pentecost as part of their RE curriculum.

Secondary Schools

From time to time we take assemblies and get involved in other activities in local secondary schools. We have particular links with Meole Brace (Secondary) School, as well as enjoying strong and long-lasting partnership with Shrewsbury Youth for Christ. (S-YFC)
