As it’s the final week of the month, we are highlighting the work of one of the organisations that we as a church support through our giving. This month’s focus is The Bible Society. They say of themselves, “We invite people to see the Bible through fresh eyes and discover its life-changing message for themselves.” You no doubt know of their great work all across the globe; translating the Bible into people’s mother-tongues, printing and distributing Scripture, and teaching people to read using the Bible as the text. But did you know they are also active here in the UK? The Bible Society created the ‘Open the Book’ project to help tell stories from the Bible in primary schools. We at Trinity Churches have been benefiting from these resources as we run Open the Book in local primary schools, bringing the Bible to life in a way that is appreciated by pupils and staff alike. The Bible Society also produces all kinds of resources such as books for children around the Easter and Christmas Stories, videos, and animations. We have also used some of the professionally produced courses such as the Romans Course.
We are very excited to be running the Bible Society’s ‘Bible Course’ this coming term. There are several ways that you can take join in with that, so please do keep reading for more information.
Grace and Peace
Keith Moore, Pioneer Minister
What a joy it was to gather together last Sunday to celebrate the Risen Christ! This Sunday, 27th April, we’ll be meeeting across our congregations and beginning a new morning sermon series on the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament.
The theme at our morning services is ‘Creating Spirit’ with Fi Iddon speaking at 9am and 11am. Please see below for an important notice for Trinity Kids at the 11am. At CTK we’ll be hearing from Shirley Stevens, and Peter Madley will be speaking at HTBV. At the 6.30pm service, Anne Roberts will be speaking on ‘Jesus appears’, and Trinity Youth will be meeting at the same time as they continue to look at the book of Colossians.
Renewal of the Electoral Roll: last call…
Thank you so much to those of you who have already filled in your electoral forms, and if you haven’t yet done yours then please do so this weekend. Then, we promise, we will stop nagging!

Welly Sunday
It’s Welly Sunday this week so Trinity Kids age 4 – 10 will be heading to The Glebe Field to explore the story of Breakfast on The Beach with Jesus! Meet us in The Cloister area from 10.50am and we will be heading onto the field as soon as the service starts. Please ensure that your child has a coat and suitable outdoor shoes or wellies.
Children aged 3 and under are also welcome to join us but must be accompanied by an adult please. Alternatively, there will be a staffed creche in The Fiwila Room with activities, story, snack and lots of fun for preschoolers.
Bible Course
We would love to invite you to join us for the Bible Course, an eight week long journey devised by the Bible Society which helps give the big picture of the Bible. This is genuinely accessible and helpful to you whether you’ve been following Jesus for years, or are simply exploring faith and would like to find out more. We are so excited about this that we’ll be running it three times each week from the week beginning 29th April: Tuesday mornings at 9am in the Trinity Centre (with a creche), Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm at Holy Trinity Belle Vue, and Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm in the Trinity Centre. You can find more information by clicking the link below…

Coming up: Evening Service focusing on the Assisted Dying Bill

As many of us will be aware, the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill is about to come back to the Commons for a third reading. In the evening service on Sunday 4th May we’ll have some time to reflect on this issue, and will hear from two members of Trinity Churches with first hand experience of being alongside people in their final stages of life. Derek Willis will speak from his experience as Medical Director of Severn Hospice, and Anne Roberts will give a pastoral response, drawing on her experience as a hospital and hospice chaplain and drawing on her personal story. There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion, and all of this will take place within the context of worship as we break bread together.
Calligrapher

As you may know, we have a beautiful Memorial Book in Church where many families choose to remember loved ones. Sadly, our lovely calligrapher has retired. Do you, or someone you know, have any skills in this department? We get a handful of requests per year so it’s not a big commitment and the work is paid. You would need to provide your own materials and equipment. Please speak to Helen in the office to find out more.
For your prayers

We will be holding the funeral of our dear friend Tony Graham in Holy Trinity Church this Tuesday, 29th April, at noon. All are welcome to attend. Please do be praying for Henrietta, and for all who loved Tony.
Trinity Life

You can find out about all this, and more, in our latest edition of Trinity Life – available both in the back of church and online.
