At this point of the month we hear from some of our Mission Partners and the work of the Mission Relief and Development Committee in supporting them.

Reading our mission partners prayer update from the Fletcher’s in Bangkok , I’m reminded that being a mission partner isn’t a title, it’s a rhythm of life. Whether it’s Jon stepping into dialogue across cultures, Bow navigating school with courage, or families in the KFT program finding strength and renewal, we’re invited to join in with what God is doing; not just in the big moments, but in the quiet, daily ones. For the Fletcher family, and for each of us, following Jesus means showing up with prayer, presence, and purpose, even when the work is unseen or the outcomes uncertain. It’s about being available to God’s leading 24 hours a day, every day of the week.

Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 9:24 echo here: “Run in such a way as to get the prize.” Not for applause, but for faithfulness. As we pray for our neighbours, for children in care, for students facing transitions, and for families in slum communities, we’re reminded that the race is long, but we don’t run alone. Let’s keep praying, keep showing up, and keep trusting that God is weaving goodness through every conversation, every act of care, and every step we take in His name.

Grace and Peace

Harvey Marsh, on behalf of the Mission Relief and Development Committee

This Sunday, 28th September,
we are continuing to think about our response to God’s generosity to us. At 9am and 11am our speaker will be Ian Budd, with Fi Iddon speaking at CTK, and Kevin Roberts at HTBV.  In the evening we will be continuing our series looking at Parables of the Kingdom, and Annali Hindle will be speaking. Trinity Youth will be meeting at 6.30pm upstairs in the Trinity Centre as they continue the Bible Course together.

Giving and Mission

IMG_5424.jpg

As you will know, we are currently thinking about God’s goodness to us, and how we respond to that through our giving.  We’ve talked about how the money that is received by Church is used for mission both here in the parish and – through our ‘tithe’ – to support mission partners further afield.  As a church we have a fund dedicated to supporting people who seek to be involved in short term mission either here in the UK or overseas.  As part of this, we are thrilled to support Paul and Bogousia Bell from our 6.30 service who are travelling to South Africa next month to volunteer at the Tshega Christian Mission.  This non profit organisation is dedicated to empowering vulnerable communities through education, holistic care and community support to transform lives.  Do speak to them if you would like to find out more.  And if you would like to talk about how the Church can support you in a short term mission project then please do speak to Liz Lewis, Chair of the Mission Relief and Development Committee.

Apple Day

It’s just a week now until Apple Day, which is such a wonderful annual community event. Come along for a hog roast, live music, apple cafe, apple games and apple crafts. We are still looking for some help with this event, particularly with crafts and the cafe. If you might be able to help for an hour or so during the event, or indeed with set up and pack down, then please do speak to Rachel Woods or get in touch with the Church Office.  And a plea for cakes, too… we would love to encourage all bakers to be dusting off their favourite apple cake, apple pie, apple crumble recipes and producing some lovely treats for the Apple Cafe.  Either drop these at the Trinity Centre during the day on Friday, or next Saturday morning, or bring them along with you when you come.

Alpha

Our next Alpha course begins in October and we would love to invite anyone who would like to explore the Christian faith in an environment where there is plenty of room for questions and discussion. Please do be thinking about whether this is something you would appreciate, or whether there are people you know who would welcome an invitation.

Defribrillator

May be an image of 2 people and text that says "DEFIBRILLATOR 團 - DIALR 55code open DIAL 999 foracces 三 一番 ርማ LOHDO aN!"

We are thrilled that our Defibrillator is now registered and installed in front of the gates and accessible by the community. Over half of the funds to purchase this were raised in memory of Mike Hinton, and we are thankful to Highline Electrical Ltd who provided their installation services free of charge as a tribute to Mike.

We will be offering training on how to use this equipment at Apple Day and hope that it will be a blessing to the local community.

Trinity Life

We are hopeful that our next edition of Trinity Life will available in the back of church on Sunday or by clicking the link on the front page of the website later today…
