At our All Age Worship last Sunday we were encouraged by Paul’s letter to the Colossians and, during our prayer time, we wrote postcards. We were encouraged to prayerfully listen to God before choosing from a selection of cards with verses from The Bible on them to write for somebody else.
I was really touched that somebody in that service wrote a card for me, and their message was both powerful and encouraging. But what moved me more was the verse on the card that they had chosen:
‘Give all your worries to Him, because He cares for you’ (1 Peter 5:7)
This is the second time in the last few weeks that somebody has given me that verse, which makes me wonder what God is saying to me at the moment!
For so many of us, life is busy and it’s so easy to get dragged down by the stresses of everyday life, let alone some of the bigger stuff that happens. But worrying steals our joy, it tests our faith, and it conceals our hope. The God who made us loves us so much that He cares about the all the things that we worry about, big and small, and He invites us to give them all to Him. He is God, He can take them all!
I wonder what worries we are carrying, that we could pass to God today, and I wonder what difference it will make?
Cerys Hughes,
Children and Families Minister

This Sunday, 19th October, we are continuing our sermon series in the mornings looking at the New Testament letter to the Colossians…in which Paul constantly reminds us to keep Jesus at the centre of all that we do. At 9am and 11am our speaker will be Phil Lewis, with the Shirley Stevens speaking at CTK. At Holy Trinity, Belle Vue Keith Moore will be leading and speaking. The evening sees us continue our theme of ‘Parables of the Kingdom’ and Anne Roberts will be speaking to us. Trinity Youth will be meeting at 6.30pm upstairs in the Trinity Centre as they continue the Bible Course together.
Board Games Evening: tonight
Our next Board Game Evening takes place this evening, Friday October 17th, at 7pm. Come along to enjoy good games and great company. Drinks are provided but feel free to bring your own snacks! We’ve got some games to enjoy, or bring along one of your own favourites.

Parking

We know that parking can sometimes be a bit tricky if there is a football match going on, and we will always open up the school car park when we aware that these fixtures are taking place. If you arrive, see a match starting and the car park isn’t open, then please do alert the warden as we don’t always know when these are happening.
This is our regular reminder to park in ways that avoid causing difficultly for other drivers. Please don’t park in the passing places on Church Road. And a reminder that the churchyard is generally kept for disabled parking, and those carrying lots of heavy things. Thank you so much for your help in keeping our neighbours happy and allowing us to be a blessing to the local community.
Knitting some hearts…
I can only apologise for mentioning this so early… but the Ministry Leaders Team have been hard at work doing some Christmas planning this week. Our theme this year is ‘Love Came Down’. Thank you so much to those of you who have been knitting or crocheting hearts – you are wonderful! If you would like to join in and make some that will be hung on trees across the parish, and used to advertise our Christmas services, then there isn’t an exact pattern to follow but we are looking for hearts that are around the size of the palm of a hand. Thank you so much – we are so grateful!
Remembering Anne Borlase

The funeral of our dear sister, Anne Borlase, takes place this Wednesday, 22nd October, at Noon at Holy Trinity, Meole Brace. All are welcome as we come to celebrate her life, and give thanks to God for all that she meant to us.
