Our community is set to benefit thanks to the beginnings of an innovative project, in the churchyard. The churchyard in Holy Trinity, Meole Brace has set aside some currently unused land to grow soft fruit for the local community, as part of an ‘Incredible Edible’ project. Pictured planting the first fruit bushes are pupils at Meole Brace Primary School, who are getting behind the project, along with the Meole Brace Secondary School, Meole Brace Garden and Allotment Club and members of the congregations at the church. With funding obtained by Shropshire Council, the plan is to produce a variety of soft fruit, raising awareness of food growing and encourage community involvement.
