Update on Election Hustings 2017

Update on Election Hustings 2017

We’re delighted to be hosting an election hustings this year on Wednesday 31st May from 730pm. Hosted by Holy Trinity Meole Brace, and organised by Churches Together in Shrewsbury, it will feature all the local candidates in an evening of lively debate and conversation.

All five Prospective Parliamentary Candidates from Shrewsbury and Atcham have been invited:

  • Emma Bullard (Green Party)
  • Laura Davies (Labour)
  • Edward Higginbottom (UKIP)
  • Daniel Kawczynski (Conservative)
  • Hannah Fraser (Liberal Democrats)

The evening will be chaired by Martin Charlesworth, pastor at Barnabas Community Church and leader of Jubilee+ charity. This is an open forum meeting for everyone in the constituency. A very full attendance is expected, so we advise people to come early. It will also be livestreamed via our website, and twitter account @TrinChShrews.

This year sees a slightly different format to the evening, with space for three individuals to tell something of their story, and how some of the big issues of the day impacts on local people in the community. The second half of the evening will be the more traditional hustings format.

Find out more? Click on some of the links to the right. Or submit a question to be asked on the evening. We certainly can’t promise to ask everyone, but it’s always helpful to have some questions to ask the candidates as the evening progresses.
