Holiday at Home – 2015

Holiday at Home - 2015

Holiday at Home 2Did Cinderella get to the ball?  Why this question you may well ask?

Well, Holiday at Home had a new venture this year, with a daily, half-hour morning exercise session set to music, led by a young lady who has now been employed to be Cinderella at Disneyland, Paris. She was an instant hit with everyone and our days started off on a high. Once energised and loosened up our guests enjoyed the usual mix of activities from quizzes to manicures or just relaxing with the daily paper.

Yet again the catering team did us proud and the meals were excellent, the Tuesday outing to Coed y Dinas for cream teas was well enjoyed by all and the entertainment provided by Gabriella the Ukelele Lady on Wednesday afternoon brought the event to a rousing finale.

For me Holiday at Home 2015 was a gathering of ‘family’ from across the parish to meet in safe and relaxing surroundings, not just to enjoy each other’s company, but to have the opportunity to share, encourage and support one another.

The added bonus of meeting at the Bradbury Hall is of course the closeness to the church building and many guests decided to take this opportunity to sit quietly in contemplation, to meet with God and to say a prayer.

It has to be said that the whole event would never have happened or been such a great success without the hard work and generosity of the team. Every volunteer has made a huge difference to the life of our community! So thank you.

Every blessing

Gordon and Jane Lamb.

PS See you next year (Monday 08 Aug to Wednesday 10 Aug 2016).
