Lent done a bit differently

Lent done a bit differently

Lent and the film ‘The Greatest Showman’ aren’t necessarily two phrases that you’d think go together!! But over the last few weeks almost fifty people have been meeting weekly on Wednesday evenings looking at themes drawn from the popular film using a book by Rachel Mann. PT Barnum played by Hugh Jackman and one of the main characters champions the outcasts of society inviting them to live their lives fully and to take pride in their identity regardless of how the culture around them reacts. There has been lots of discussion and chatter and of course snippets of the film shown! It has been great to see people meeting with God in the every day, on how to live their lives fully for Jesus. Small groups have come along together as a great alternative. People have enjoyed the ‘interesting and thought-provoking discussions’ and found it ‘something a bit different!’

We have different events happening over the Easter period with the Walk of Witness through Shrewsbury town centre on Friday 19th April, which you would be very welcome to join us on, as well as various church services across the parish. See the dates and locations below. For those interested in joining a small group please go the drop-down menu ‘Church Life’ on the website and ‘Small Groups’ to find out more.
