New Eco-Church resource for September 2019

September 2019
sees us look at how the gospel can be good news for God’s earth. At the heart of scripture is the call to express our care for God’s world, and to be responsible for stewards of all that God has made.
To help with this we are recommending a really excellent resource by Richard Clarkson. (Richard is – amongst other things – vicar of the AMICA benefice in North Shropshire, environmental officer for Lichfield Diocese, and son to Judith Clarkson who is Childrens Minister here.) The booklet is a series of daily reflections and prayers for “Creationtide”, leading up to Harvest 2019. It looks in a variety of ways at what it might mean to live in the created world, to help us reflect on our place and role in the world God has made, and to let that inform our faith. Each week follows a broad theme, with reflection, experience, poetry, questions and prayers.
You’ll see in the picture to the left the view that Tracey and I enjoyed when we were reading one of the early days, getting a headstart whilst we were in Austria. Copies are available in church, as well as online by clicking the button below. If you want to be in touch with Richard – to respond, to get involved, or to simply say ‘thanks’ – you’ll find his contact details on the Diocesan Website.
