Trinity Churches to Run Shrewsbury Half Marathon

Six of us from Trinity Churches, Shrewsbury are taking on The Shrewsbury Half Marathon!

To raise some money for a wonderful life changing charity!

Opportunity Pre-School in Shrewsbury is a fully inclusive pre-school for children of all abilities, enabling children with special needs to play and develop alongside their peers. It has been judged as “outstanding” across all areas by OFSTED who said “All children thrive in this vibrant and child centred atmosphere….The children are fully supported in their experience by enthusiastic, caring and interested adults who very obviously enjoy being with the children and giving them the very best.”

Teacher Georgina Gibbons, who set up the charity 27 years ago, leads a highly trained and motivated staff team, providing the best possible environment for all the children. The pre-school follows the Reggio Emilia approach, a philosophy which is based on the principles of respect, responsibility, and community through exploration and discovery in a supportive and enriching environment based on the interests of the children. The purpose-built setting is open, with free flow between rooms and outdoor learning spaces, so children spend lots of time enjoying nature and fresh air.

Opportunity’s families say: “it’s like being part of a family”, “Opportunity means belonging, friendship and inspiration to me”, “Opportunity gives me peace of mind”.

Opportunity Pre-School is a registered charity and parent-managed organisation. We work together to raise funds to supplement the income from session fees, enabling us to keep these fees as low as possible for local families. Fundraising helps towards upkeep of the setting, updating of equipment (particularly equipment to facilitate special needs), and to maintain highly trained staff.
