Soul Purpose Christmas Thank you!

A huge thank you to everyone from Trinity Churches who joined with other Christians around town to support, encourage, pray, give, wrap presents, bake, peel vegetables, decorate the hall, provide transport for or host Soul Purpose Christmas. Without you, we would not have been able to serve almost 120 people on Christmas Day with a delicious Christmas Dinner, or to bless them with a day of joy. Particular thanks must to to Steve Clarkson and his wonderful cooking team who really excelled themselves once again.
For many of our guests, Soul Purpose Christmas really is the highlight of the year. I started getting phone calls at the beginning of May from former guests desperate to know that their name would be on the list again. As is usual, we added lots of new guests to our lists in the 24 hours before the meal began – and it is such a delight to be able to say a resounding welcome to everyone. For me, the most precious part of Christmas is always sitting around a table with new friends and old in the Bradbury Hall after Father Christmas has been as we all sing carols together – proclaiming the truth of God’s great love giving life. We are one family because of Jesus.
If you’ve never got involved with Soul Purpose Christmas before then why not think about doing so next year? Do ask those who have been involved and they will tell you what a blessing it is to be part of. Perhaps Christmas Day itself isn’t for you, but you might be able to help in some other way. This year the vegetables were peeled in 17 minutes and 40 seconds on Christmas Eve which sounds like a hard record to beat..but with your help we might just do it!
