Advent is here and as I write the Church is buzzing with anticipation for school nativity performances! As Christmas lights up the Trinity Centre and rehearsals for Carols by Candlelight fill the air with music, we're reminded that this season is about more than decorations, wrapping, and busy calendars. It is about preparing our hearts for the coming of Jesus, the light who shines in our darkness.
This year we're especially excited to share our Advent Prayer Calendar, a daily journey through the story of Jesus' birth, with short clips and invitations to pray. You'll find it on Facebook, Instagram, and our website, and we'd love you not only to follow along but to share it with friends and family. It's a simple, joyful way to pause each day and rediscover the wonder of Advent.
We're also thrilled to be welcoming so many people into the Church over the coming weeks. From Crib Services to Christmas Morning Celebrations there's a place for everyone to be invited and be welcome. Whether you've been part of Trinity Churches for years or are stepping through the doors for the very first time, we can't wait to celebrate with you.
So come and join us bringing your voice, your prayers, your laughter, and your hope. Advent is a season of waiting, but it's also a season of welcome. Let's wonder together at the coming of Jesus, the Light of the World, still changing our lives today.
Peace and Joy
Ian Budd, Curate
Please do see below for more details of our 'Advent Prayer Calendar' which is a wonderful way to prepare our hearts for Christmas - and invite others to do the same.
This Sunday, 7th December, we'll be continuing to use the LICC's 'Small Wonder' series in our morning services. At 9am, and 11am our speaker will be Alex Aldous, with Shirley Stevens speaking at CTK. At HTBV we'll be hosting our monthly Messy Church at 9am, followed by Cafe Church led by Fi Iddon. Ian Budd will be speaking at the evening service. Trinity Youth will be meeting at 6.30pm upstairs in the Trinity Centre.
Church Advent Prayer Calendar
I don't know if you've had a chance to look at our Church Advent Calendar yet, but it's been a real blessing to me each morning. Thank you so much to all those who have been involved. Each day, from 1st December until Christmas Eve, we'll be publishing a short video on social media (Facebook and Instagram) and on our website. Each clip tells part of the story of the birth of Jesus and ends with an invitation to pray. Our hope is that we as church family will feel happy to share this (if we are those who 'do' social media, or to send the website link to those who don't) and encourage others to 'try praying' this Advent.

Christmas Rotas
The Christmas web page is now live on our website, detailing everything that's going on over the next few weeks. Christmas here at Trinity Churches is such a wonderful time to reach our community with the love of Jesus: and this is only possible with a literal army of volunteers. The wardens have their legendary 'clipboard and Christmas rota' ready and waiting, and will be asking for people to offer with all manner of things. We really do appreciate all those who are happy to serve in this way. I want to particularly mention the crib services on Christmas Eve – these are two very busy and full services that are almost entirely attended by those who are not here every week. This makes then harder to find volunteers for. But if you could possibly give up 90 minutes of your time on Christmas Eve to support this vital outreach to families then we would be so very grateful. Thank you.
Christmas services and events
We are very much heading into the Christmas season now and the church is looking amazing! Thank you to all those involved... There are lots of things going on over the next few weeks, but the best place to find out all the information is via our website. Over the next week we've got the Trinity Youth Christmas 'Pimp My Gingerbread House' social (tonight), the Young Adults' Christmas party (next Friday) and Little Buds Christmas Toddler Church (also next Friday). Don't forget that Sunday 14th December will be our annual 'All Age Nativity' at the 11am service. Do come along dressed as a nativity character, or borrow one of our costumes, and we can step into the story together.

Carols by Candlelight takes place on 21st December with two services at 4.30 and 7pm. We are always grateful for donations of mulled wine and mince pies to help our hospitality after these services. If you would like to bring donations of either of these, then please do drop them at the office on or before Monday 15th so that the wonderful wardens can check we are fully stocked!
Remembering Enid
We'll be giving thanks for the life of our lovely friend Enid Jones (9am and Messy Church) tomorrow in Church at 2pm. All are welcome to join us.
