Our Praying | Doing | Cheering theme for this month is our work with young people…

I wonder when you look back at role models and mentors in your life, how many of those were influential through the teenage years?  I’m hugely grateful for some special people who guided me through those difficult years of transition, and who pointed me to Jesus.

Here at Trinity Churches we are blessed with a wonderful group of teenagers.  Since the start of September we have seen new young people arriving in all our groups, most of whom are not from church families.  These young people are seeking Jesus.  What an absolute privilege for us as a church to be entrusted with this journey of discovery of faith.

There are an amazing group of leaders who help to resource and lead our groups, but I want to be really honest and say that there have been times over the last year when we have had to cancel a session of almost all of our groups for lack of leaders.  I’m going to set out below where the need is greatest.  And if you feel God prompting you to think about this then do speak to me…but please also get to know the young people and chat to them, too.  They are not looking for someone cool, or someone with all the answers, but they deeply appreciate people who are interested in them as individuals and who want to explore this journey of faith with them as fellow pilgrims.

Grace and Peace

Fi Iddon, Associate Vicar

Tuesday nights: 5.30-6.30pm Shine (Year 6): one consistent leader needed, and
6.30-7.30pm (Year 7+) one consistent leader needed

Sunday mornings at 11am: Pathfinders (currently Year 6-9): occasional leaders would be helpful, and Anon (Year 10+): this group is the most pressing need and we are looking for a couple of people who are prepared to lead one session a month.

Sunday Night Youth at 6.30pm (Year 10+): this group would benefit from someone able to regularly commit to perhaps two sessions a month.

And don’t forget it’s Harvest this Sunday: see below for more details!

This Sunday,
5th October, we are celebrating Harvest. At 9am and 11am our speaker will be Fi Iddon, with Robert Parsons speaking at CTK.  Holy Trinity, Belle Vue will be hosting Messy Church at 9am, followed by Cafe Church led by Ian Budd at 10.30am. The evening sees our monthly Presence Communion Service, and Judith Drury will be sharing her experience of Prison Ministry with us.  Trinity Youth will be meeting at 6.30pm upstairs in the Trinity Centre as they continue the Bible Course together.

Apple Day

Apple Day is almost here! Please do come along and be part of this wonderful day.  We’ve spent time making sure that the day is wet and (high) wind proof and safe, and all activities are going ahead in slightly different locations…except for those on the Glebe Field.  We will also be offering training on the new Defibrillator during the day, too.

Giving

IMG_5424.jpg

Over the last two weeks we’ve been talking about God’s generosity to us, and how we respond to this in our own lives.  As part of this, the stewardship team have encouraged us all to review our own giving.  You can find out more information about what this looks like by clicking on the link below.

Alpha

Alpha (3).jpg

Our next Alpha course begins this Wednesday and we would love to invite anyone who would like to explore the Christian faith in an environment where there is plenty of room for questions and discussion. Please do be thinking about whether this is something you would appreciate, or whether there are people you know who would welcome an invitation. Perhaps you might also consider sharing our facebook video on your own social media?
