This month’s ‘Praying, Doing, Cheering’ theme is our work with Preschoolers which Cerys wrote about in last week’s email. Many of you will know of Holy Trinity Preschool which is part of life at HTBV. Although it’s now entirely separate in terms of management, it’s still very much ‘part’ of the church family and ministry there. I have the privilege to be Chair of the Management Committee. It’s an amazing place
When I arrived at Preschool this week, I was immediately invited to squeeze myself into one of the tiny yellow chairs set out in bus formation to ‘go to the beach.’ It was quite a long imaginary journey, with lots of hills and twists and turns. But I so enjoyed and appreciated the conversations we had as we played in this way, and the time spent together.
This made me think about the journey that each of us are on. For some of us there is joy in the journey, for others sorrow. Some journeys feel are full of anticipation, for others they are uncertain or even deeply painful.
We are a church family, part of the Body of Christ, and so when one part of the Body hurts, we all hurt. One of our values as a church is authenticity and so I’m grateful to those of you who share the pain of the journey and allow us the privilege of walking with you – either with words or in silent prayer – as we travel together.
This is a prayer that may help those of us who sometimes don’t know what or how to pray when things are difficult…
In darkness and in light,
in trouble and in joy,
help us, heavenly Father,
to trust in your love,
to serve your purpose,
and to praise your name:
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
Grace and Peace
Fi Iddon, Associate Vicar

This Sunday, 8th June, we’ll be meeting across our congregations to worship together and celebrate Pentecost.
Ian Budd is speaking at 9am and CTK with the All Age Worship team leading at 11am. Fi Iddon is preaching at HTBV, and Kevin Roberts at the Evening Service. Trinity Youth will also be meeting at 6.30pm this Sunday as they continue to study Colossians
Board Games Evening: tonight!
Our next Board Games evening takes place tonight, Friday 6th June at 7pm. Come along by yourself or with others, and enjoy playing games together. We’ll have some games there, but feel free to bring your own, too.

Half Night of Prayer

We’ll be holding another half night of prayer this coming Monday, 9th June. Please do make it a priority to attend even for half an hour. As you will no doubt have heard, there is a ‘Quiet Revival’ underway in the UK, and we are starting to see some signs of it here too. So let’s make prayer a particular priority at this time (and indeed during our own vacancy).
Ian’s Priesting: Joint Service on Sunday 29th June

What a joy it will be to host the ordination to Priesting of our very own Ian Budd on Saturday 29th June at a joint service at 10.30am. There will be no other morning services across the parish that week (though the evening service will be meeting at 6.30pm). We’ll be following this with a ‘bring and share’ church family lunch, and you can let us know that you are coming by clicking the link below:

Parish Profile Working Group

As you will know, a group have begun work on preparing our parish profile, which acts a little like a job description for our new vicar.
As well as direct approaches to groups and ministries, there will be two open meetings held on Wednesday 25th June – at 2pm (in the back of church) and at 7pm (in the Bradbury Hall) – and anyone is welcome to attend these.
Let’s keep being a church that is praying for the vacancy process, and listening to how the Lord is speaking to us.
Photography in Church
As part of the process of writing the Parish Profile, we really do need some good quality of photos which speak of what it means to be part of Trinity Churches. I’ve already written to Trinity Kids parents, but this is advance notice of the fact that Hannah Moore (pictured above) will be in Holy Trinity (and may pop into CTK, too) on the mornings of 15th and 22nd June. There will be an area for those who don’t wish to be caught on camera to sit, and we won’t use any photos of under 18s without specific permission. Hannah will be the only one using a camera, and will have a lanyard on, but we’ve included her photo so that you know who she is. Hannah used to be Director of Shrewsbury Youth for Christ so has great awareness of the sensitivities around photography, and also filmed some amazing Soul Purpose videos back in the day…so is used to the complexities of photography in situations where some people may not wish to be caught on camera. If you have any questions, please do speak to Fi, or to one of the wardens.
Summer Welcome event
Our summer welcome event for those who are new, or feeling new, takes place on Monday 30th June at 7.30pm in the Trinity Centre. We’ll be getting some invitations out in the next week or so, but you can sign up below if you would like to come – we would love to see you!

Confirmation Service

Advance notice that we will be holding a Confirmation Service on Sunday 20th July during the 11am service. If you are interested in affirming your faith through confirmation during this service then please do speak to one of the ministry leaders team.
New Wine 2025

The New Wine festival takes place at the Bath and Wells Showground from 30th July to 4th August. It’s a great opportunity to hear some great teaching and enjoy time together. If you have already booked then please do let Fi know so that we’ve got an idea of how many of us are camping together… and if you would like to know more then do check out their website, or have a chat to Fi or others who have been before.
