The Meole Estate

Bacon Buddies, community meals and a group of teenagers getting involved inpracticalprojects around the local area might seem a long way off what many people think of as “Church”. But these are just some of the recent events and activities which make up the networks of people who live on the Meole Estate and who seek to grow as followers of Jesus.

Headed up by a great team, there are many ways in which you can get involved, make friends, and join a growing group of people of all ages on the Meole Estate.

Bacon Buddies (Every Thursday from 9am)

If you’ve ever wondered where the smell of bacon is wafting over the Meole Estate is coming from, look no further. Bacon Buddies meet Thursdays from 9am in the Meet Place, and an opportunity to catch up together over a bacon sandwich. Also, come and make use of the Food Share table in partnership with Shrewsbury Food Hub and help to reduce Supermarket waste.

MBK (Every Wednesday 3.30pm to 5pm Term Time)

A kids’ club for primary aged children. Join us for a snack, a Bible story and lots of fun, games and activities.

Food Share (Every Thursday 9am-10am)

In conjunction with the Shrewsbury Food Hub. Shrewsbury Food Hub is a volunteer-powered charity that stops food waste to protect the environment and strengthen our community. We collect surplus food from shops, manufacturers and farms and share it with local groups.

Sweetlake

We love making connections in Sweetlake and often hold events within the community, whether it be hot chocolate and cakes or a treasure hunt around the local area. We can often be found near the park by the lake prepped with drinks and treats for all occasions. Keep an eye out for events being held in the area and come along, we would love to see you.

In December 2024 we started our first involvement at Sweetlake by having a Christmas event including carols, festive drinks and mince pies. Since then we have been going once a month to Sweetlake to offer refreshments,  cake, games and building community. Every third Monday  of the month we go from 3.30 to 4.15 ( weather permitting) to keep being church presence in this wonderful community.
