We want to be a generous church and find ways of supporting God’s work locally and further afield. It is such a privilege to pray, get informed, and join in alongside a number of different projects. Each year we also give away at least 10% of our freewill income,
which enables us to give over £25,000 to partner organisations through our
Mission, Relief and Development Committee (MRDC).

Shrewsbury Street Pastors
(9am Congregation)
Street Pastors are Christian volunteers who engage with people on the street to listen, care and offer help without judgement or discrimination. They work in partnership with the police, local councils and other agencies to respond to the needs on the streets of Shrewsbury. Working in teams, from 10pm to 3am each Saturday night, they have given out thousands of flip flops to prevent injury to bare feet, bottles of water and blankets to people at risk of hypothermia or exposure. They have also rescued a number of people from the River Severn, quite literally saving lives. www.shrewsburystreetpastors.org,uk
M and H and family in North Africa with CMS (11am congregation)
M and H, with their children, work in remote villages in a country where conversion to Christianity is criminalised. The family seek to serve the communities where they live, showing God’s love in practical ways and in their everyday context. They lead trekking groups, disciple, encourage local Christians, run children’s activities and much more. www.churchmissionsociety.org
ReSource (Christ the King Congregation)
Resource ‘exists to support local churches in spiritual renewal…with a particular focus on ‘little, local, ordinary churches’.’ They run an ‘alongside scheme’ to help clergy and leaders who may feel isolated, as well as online retreats. They also run various training sessions to help build up and empower local churches, which our own CTK has benefited from. www.resource-arm.net
The Fletcher Family in Thailand with

Jon and Elise with their children live and serve fulltime in their vibrant Bangkok slum community. This is a 24-hour, 7 day a week calling that shapes every part of their lives. They are involved in a programme aimed at strengthening and keeping vulnerable families together and improving long term outcomes for children. Jon uses their grassroots experiences of living in the slum community to advocate for policy change in Thailand.

Compassion Child Sponsorship (Trinity Kids
Compassion is a Christian child development charity that exists to lift children out of poverty in Jesus’ name. Compassion works through the local church to provide for the needs of the whole child – including their education, wellbeing, healthy eating and spiritual development. Trinity Kids have started sponsorship of a 6-year-old girl called Korkor from Ghana.

The Bible Society
The Bible Society works to make the Bible available, accessible and relevant to people around the world. Through translation, publishing, education and community programmes, it helps people engage with the Bible in their own language and discover the life changing power of God’s word.

Open Doors
Every day, millions of Christians risk their lives to follow Jesus. In more than 70 countries, Open Doors supports them by supplying Bibles, providing emergency relief and helping persecuted believers stand strong for the long-term. Christian Aid
Christian Aid works with local partners around the world to promote dignity, equality and justice. They help people overcome poverty, claim their rights, access education and opportunities, and build resilience to challenges such as climate change, conflict and disasters, enabling communities to create lasting positive change. www.christianaid.org.uk
Shrewsbury Youth for Christ
SYFC is about seeing young people’s lives changed by Jesus. Through schools, churches, and local communities, delivering assemblies, Christian Unions, drop-in clubs, and much more. They share Jesus in ways that are real, relevant, and accessible to every young person in Shrewsbury.

Emergency Appeals
As a church we have the privilege to pray for, and respond financially through charities with local partners on the ground to, emergencies and crisis in our world and local community. Examples of emergencies we have given to include the recent earthquakes in Morocco and Thailand, the ongoing crisis in the Middle East and more recently the Ebola crisis in the Congo, amongst others.
Short Term/One off Misson
As a church we want to pray for, encourage and financially support individuals to get involved in short term mission, both locally and internationally.
