Have you ever noticed that some of life's best conversations happen over food? Whether it's coffee and cake, or a good curry, sharing a meal has a way of bringing people together. Jesus certainly seemed to know that, with many of his most memorable conversations happened around a table.
At Interserve, the organisation that I work for – and that Trinity Churches has been able to support from your generous giving – we've discovered something similar... except our food of choice is usually samosas! For us, they have become a symbol of welcome, friendship and the countless conversations that happen as people from different cultures gather together.
That's why, at this year's New Wine Festival, we'll be there talking about "Samosas for Jesus".
There will be plenty of fun along the way, but the aim is a serious one: helping individuals and churches think about how we share the hope of Jesus both around the world and across the road. Together we'll explore real-life situations, rated "mild", "medium" and "spicy". What would you do if someone told you they'd had a dream about Jesus and wanted to know more? How might you walk alongside someone who has chosen to follow Christ but fears being rejected, or even harmed, if their family discovers their new faith?
These are not just questions from faraway places. Increasingly, they are questions being asked in towns and cities across the UK.
As Scripture reminds us, "The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself" (Leviticus 19:34). God invites us to be people of welcome, hospitality and hope.
Please do pray for our work, that God would use us to equip churches and individuals to love neighbours and confidently share the good news of Jesus – and that many more would come to know Him.

This Sunday, 26th July, we'll be beginning our new summer sermon series, 'What's in a Name?' across our morning congregations. Our preacher at 9am and 11am is Kevin Roberts, with Fi Iddon speaking at CTK and Alex Aldous hosting at HTBV. The evening congregation at 6.30pm, will be continuing the summer series, 'Sent' with Anne Roberts speaking and Ian Budd sharing something of his time in Spain as a Chaplain. Trinity Youth are not meeting over the summer months.
Meet (some of!) our Mission Partners
There will be opportunities to connect with some of our Mission Partners over the summer months. On 2nd August, the Fletcher Family will be sharing about life in Bangkok at the evening service (which will be in church on that night due to Holiday at Home set up!). Then on 16th August our family from North Africa will be sharing as part of both the All Age Communion service in the morning, and at evening service. They are only able to be in Shrewsbury for that weekend and we recognise that many of us may want to connect with them - and so there will be a 'bring your own' picnic around the Trinity Centre at about 12.30pm that day for any who want to spend time with them (the Bradbury Hall is booked in case of wet weather).

This week, we are highlighting the Summer Walk on Wednesday 29th July. We'll be meeting at 7pm for a prompt start from the car park of the New Inn in Hook a Gate for a two hour circular walk. The New Inn will be open when we get back, and it's good to support them for post walk refreshments! Full details are on the website, and it's quite helpful if you can let us know that you are coming.

Holiday at Home and the Barmouth trip
If you, or someone you know, may be interested then it's not too late to sign up for Holiday at Home on 3rd and 4th August. Wednesday 5th August sees the annual Barmouth trip - we have two coaches booked with one aimed at our 'Holiday at Home' guests, and the other to cater for families, and particularly those without an easy way to get to the seaside themselves. These categories are not exclusive, though! Again, if you know someone who might appreciate this then please do pass on the details.

Tuesday morning small group
We are really delighted to have a group of people, many of them new Christians or those exploring faith, reading the Bible together on Tuesday mornings. Several of them are parents of preschoolers and this term we've been able to offer a creche. We would love to continue to do this, so if you have a DBS and safeguarding training – or are happy to have a conversation about what this looks like – and would like to support this important new ministry then please do speak to Keith Moore or give the church office a ring.
CTK Prayers
Our monthly CTK prayer meeting takes place at 9.45am next week, 2nd August, before gathered worship at 10.30am in the Radbrook Green Centre.
