This month's Praying | Doing | Cheering theme is Apple Day, which is taking place (a week earlier than usual) at the end of the month.
Apple Day is our annual community celebration of God's goodness at Harvest time, expressed through the story of the humble apple, hosted jointly with the Windfall Project. Some of you may not be familiar with the Windfall Project which encourages adults with learning difficulties to garden, and to make jams and chutneys. If you've never tasted their produce then you are missing out… The Windfall guys love Apple Day and begin asking when the next one well before Christmas each year!
Apple Day welcomes the community with a hog roast (and veggie alternatives!), apple pressing (bring along your apples, and a container for the juice), apple games (bring a spare t shirt if your apple bobbing style is likely to be super competitive!), apple crafts (featuring the annual 'Mr Apple Head' contest) and an apple café. We are able to enjoy live music, great conversation and a wonderfully relaxed community time – with an opportunity to view the fabulous harvest flowers, too.
This is a great event to be praying for. We welcome literally hundreds of local people – please pray that they will feel a warm welcome and perhaps accept an invitation to other things here at Trinity, too. Please be cheering Apple Day on – do invite people to come along and be part of celebrations. And this day needs an army of people doing all sorts of jobs, alongside baking apple cakes. This Sunday, 6th September, we'll be continuing our summer sermon series, 'What's in a Name?' across our morning congregations as we think about Jehovah Rophe, God who heals. Our preacher at 9am, CTK and 11am is Alex Aldous. HTBV have Messy Church at 9am, followed by Cafe Church at 10.45 hosted by Fi Iddon. The evening congregation at 6.30pm, will be completing the summer series, 'Sent' with Fi Iddon speaking. Trinity Youth will be meeting again at the same time, upstairs in the Trinity Centre.
Fun in the Sun
The final Fun in the Sun event is also the last of our summer time congregational meet ups. The 11am service are invited to 'Bring your own picnic' next Sunday, 13th September, after the 11am All Age Service. It will be great to have some social time together, and hopefully some games on the field.

Half Night of Prayer
Our termly half night of prayer takes place this Wednesday, 9th September, from 7 until 11pm in the Bradbury Hall. We've timed this to coincide with the Global Week of Prayer, and this is an important opportunity for us to gather together as a church family and seek God together. It's really easy to come and go as you are able, and we encourage everyone to come for a short time in the evening if you are able.

Ride and Stride
The Shropshire Historic Churches Trust annual 'Ride and Stride' event takes place a week tomorrow, on Saturday 12th September. If you are able to help with staffing the church or would like to be sponsored to 'ride or stride' then please do speak to Gill Madley or to Helen Hinton in the office. At the end of this day, the ringers will be participating in the M54 corridor 'ringing wave' and the Tower will be open from 3.30 to 4.30pm...
There are two group rides taking place on 12th September (you can do both, if you would like!) The first (8 miles) begins promptly at 9.30am at Holy Trinity, Meole Brace, finishing at HTBV at around noon. The second ride begins at HTBV at 12.30pm and will finish at HTMB at around 4pm. If you would like to plan your own route then you will find a list of participating churches below.

Disaster Relief in Nepal
We'll all be aware, and will have been praying for, the situation in Nepal. As many of us will know, our Mission Relief and Development Committee has a budget allocated for disaster relief, and a donation has been made to the International Nepal Fellowship. We are grateful to MRDC for consistently working hard to find aid agencies that are active 'on the ground' in the long term. We continue to to pray for the nation of Nepal.
