One of my favourite seasons of the year is Spring. Where everything seems to come to live and there is a sense of excitement in the air. This helped me to reflect on one of my favourite verses in the Bible from Isaiah 43 and verse 19 with some reflective thoughts I found online. “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness, streams in the wasteland.” This declaration highlights God’s active and creative nature, emphasizing that He is not just repeating past actions, but initiating something fresh and new. God’s new act is not distant, but present and unfolding, encouraging us to be attentive to the signs of His work. And the verse ends with a beam of hope of transformation and renewal, where barren and desolate places are turned into paths and sources of life. This is my prayer for us this week that we can be attentive to the signs of God’s move in our lives, and that those places in our lives that cause us agony, sadness ,frustration, disappointments or pain will be transformed to be sources of Life and Hope.

APCM

Our APCM, which is like an Annual General Meeting, takes place at 6.30pm on Sunday 18th May. An Agenda is available on the church website along with various documents including the financial review and the Annual Report. There are some paper copies of these documents at the back of church but, as part of our commitment to eco church, please do read these online if you are able to do so. At this meeting, and the Vestry Meeting which precedes it, we elect church wardens. I’m pleased that all three wardens have indicated that they are happy to stand again unless we as a church would like to put others forward. We also have a vacancy for one District Warden to represent Christ the King. In addition to this, if you would be interested in standing for PCC then do have a chat with one of the wardens or Ministry Leaders team… There are nomination forms for both PCC and Church Wardens available on the website, as well as at the back of church.
