This week has felt like the turning of the seasons. Bright crisp mornings greet us as autumn paints the landscape gold and amber, and leaves gather along paths and hedgerows. The sun rises later and sets earlier. This joyful time of year invites us to pause and notice the beauty of God's creation. It has also felt truly like harvest season.

Following last week's church celebration, we have continued giving thanks with local schools, care homes, and around our Trinity Table. Sharing these moments across generations has been a particular blessing. Children have marvelled at the season's colours, fruits, vegetables and how we bake bread. Care home residents have shared treasured memories of harvests past; and around tables, conversation, laughter and generosity have flowed in friendship and gratitude.

Psalm 65 offers a wonderful picture of God's abundance: the Lord visits the earth, waters and enriches it, and crowns the year with goodness. Meadows are clothed with flocks, valleys covered with grain, and all creation bursts into song. This is a vision not only of provision, but of joy. We see signs of God's faithful care in food on our tables, the changing countryside, neighbours' kindness and communities celebrating together. Delivering food to our partners at Foodbank Plus again revealed the joy of abundant giving and receiving.

As harvest season continues, we have much to be thankful for. We rejoice in creation, in the generosity freely shared across our communities, and above all in our loving God, whose provision never fails, and whose blessings overflow. May our hearts, like the fields and valleys of Psalm 65, be filled with thanksgiving and praise.

Blessings,

Ian

Start Invite.pdf (1).jpg

We are so pleased to be hosting the Start Course. This six week course, on Wednesday evenings from the start of November, gives space to ask and begin to answer some of the big questions about life and what it means to follow Jesus. If you would like to come, then please do sign up via the website or have a chat with us. And please do be thinking who you know who might be interested in coming along.

For those who were expecting Alpha this term, we are offering that after Christmas.

Please come to this very special and long awaited service on Wednesday 21st October at 7pm at Holy Trinity. It will mark the start of Fi's new role as our Vicar! We will be welcoming her and asking God to bless her as she leads us and serves the Parish. We will be celebrating afterwards with light refreshments in the Bradbury Hall.

Dare we say the C word! We promise not to talk to much about Christmas yet, but we would love to mention that we will be welcoming our usual Christmas stalls a little earlier this year, on the 25th October between the 9am and 11am services. Please do come along and get ahead with some Christmas shopping!
