We want to be a generous church, finding ways to support God's work both locally and around the world. To help achieve this, we give at least 10% of our freewill offerings to support organisations and individuals committed to sharing God's love and truth. We do this through our mission partners, regular and one-off grants, emergency appeals, and a short-term mission fund.
Today, I'd like to tell you more about this mission fund and to encourage you to think about what you are already doing or would like to do to share God's love and Word with those around you and in the wider world. Could some financial support, prayer, and/ or encouragement from the church make a difference?
Locally, the fund has helped support the start-up of the Meole Estate Community Café, a venture that seeks to build community and combat loneliness. We have also provided Christmas gifts for the chaplaincy team at the local prison as a way of showing our appreciation and support for those who faithfully share the good news of Jesus and care for prisoners.
Further afield, we have supported Paul and Bogusia Bell on their mission trip to South Africa with Operation Mobilisation. They served alongside a team working with vulnerable families, helping to transform lives through God's love. We have also supported Kevin Roberts and Claire Nye on their trip to Burundi with SOMA, where they helped lead a conference for church leaders, teaching, encouraging, and strengthening the local church.
A few years ago, a group of young adults from our church visited Egypt. During their trip, they spent time at an orphanage connected with Keith and Amal. A gift from the church enabled them to provide a special meal to bless the staff and children in their care.
These are just a few examples of how the mission fund has been used. We would love to encourage you to use your time, gifts, and talents for God, and to talk with you about any ideas or projects you feel passionate about. Do come and chat, we are excited as a church about this fund and would love to see it utilised further.

This Sunday, 28th June, we'll be continuing our current sermon series on Hebrews in our morning services. Our preacher at 9am and 11am will be Phil Lewis, with Keith Moore speaking at CTK and Peter Madley at HTBV. The evening service, at 6.30pm, will be continuing the journey through 1 Timothy with Kevin Roberts speaking. Trinity Youth will be meeting upstairs in the Trinity Centre as usual.
This Sunday is also Welly Sunday so Trinity Kids will be meeting in the cloister at 11am. Please do make sure that you are dressed for the weather - whatever that may be!
Women's Brunch
The next Women's Brunch takes place on Saturday 4th July at 9.30am with Louise Magowan speaking. The cost is £7 per person and you can sign up by clicking the link below.

Mediterranean Evening
Come and join us on Friday 17th July for a Mediterranean meal as part of our 'Fun in the Sun' programme. Melo's kitchen is partnering with the Trinity Centre to offer a three course meal with live music. Tickets are £30 to cover food and staffing costs, and you find more information, including menu choices, and booking information on the website.

Congratulations
Huge congratulations to Keith Moore, one of our Pioneer Ministers, who has passed his MA in Theology, Ministry and Mission with flying colours! We are so proud of Keith who has achieved this while also working so very hard as part of the staff team. Keith is too humble to tell us this himself, but we want to cheer him on and celebrate his wonderful achievement.
In other staff news, we now have a date for Fi's Licensing Service as Vicar which will be on Wednesday 21st October at 7pm. Some of the delay in this is caused by the Bishop generously asking Fi to take four weeks off before this happens, and wanting to wait until the end of the current preaching and leading rota to enable this to happen more easily and with minimum of disruption.
Preschool Open Day
And finally, an invitation from our friends at Holy Trinity Preschool. They are holding an Open Day on Monday 29th June. Please do pass on this date to anyone who you think might be interested in finding out more about this nurturing Preschool which meets at HTBV.
