I hope that hasn't given you an ear worm of a naff party song from 2000…and instead has you wondering what we are up to in Children and Families ministry!
Each year hundreds of families are welcomed at our midweek Tots groups, but it's noticeable that the majority of adults that attend these groups are female. When male carers do come along, they tell us that it takes real courage and that however welcoming and inclusive we are, they can still feel that they stand out.
The experiences of one of our regular Dads, Jason, has given him a vision and huge sense of calling to reach out to Dads in a new way, and so 'Who Let The Dads Out' is coming to Meole Brace! This is a national movement of groups for Dads and male carers together with their children, and aims to offer a welcoming space for fun, food, friendships and support, and to 'turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers' (Malachi 4:6)
Our group will meet in The Trinity Centre on the third Saturday of each month, starting on 18th April. Publicity will be coming out in the next few weeks, but in the meantime please do be:
Praying – for Jason and Ian leading this, for our plans and publicity and for the families that might come.
Doing – are you a male with a few hours free on a Saturday morning? There are jobs for everyone…setting up, welcoming, hanging out with others, serving refreshments, making bacon rolls, washing up, clearing away…
Cheering – who are the Dads and male carers around you that you could tell about this new group?
We're really excited to be stepping out in faith and trying something new and we can't wait to see what God does next. Watch this space!
Grace and Peace
Cerys Hughes,
Children and Families' Minister
This Sunday, 1st March, we'll be continuing our sermon series 'Prayers of the Bible' and will be thinking in our morning services about how Jesus teaches us to pray. Our preacher at 9am, CTK and 11am will be Ian Budd, with Fi Iddon at HTBV. Alistair Hornal will be speaking at the Evening Service about 'Forgiven to forgive'. Trinity Youth will be meeting upstairs in the Trinity Centre at 6.30pm.
Our morning services will be having a 'Sunday Social'. This means that we will be recognising the importance of fellowship with one another after the services as part of our worship, and so will have a slightly shorter service to allow everyone to enjoy coffee together and still get away at a similar time as needed. We've also got some great refreshments lined up!

Lent
This Lent we are continuing our commitment to go deeper in corporate prayer with a different opportunity for prayer each week. This Tuesday evening, Charles will be facilitating Silent Prayer in church at 7.45pm. Then see below for details of the Half Night of Prayer the following week...
Half Night of Prayer
On Wednesday 11th March we'll be holding our termly 'Half Night of Prayer'. These evenings are always such a blessing, and we encourage everyone to try to come – even for half an hour or so. There are always lots of people 'coming and going' through the evening…the important thing is that we join together and pray.
Lent Lunches at Holy Trinity, Belle Vue
Our friends at Holy Trinity, Belle Vue, are hosting a series of four Lent lunches in March. Ian will be leading a series of Bible studies on the series of 'Draw Near'. Please do click the link below if you would like to be part of this, in order to help with numbers for catering.

Saying thank you...
Many of us will know of the amazing work of our Finance Officer Jenny Jones, even if we haven't actually met her! Jenny is heading for a well earned retirement at the end of March. If anyone would like to write a message to her then there are card pages at the back of church... and if you wish to contribute to a gift can do so in cash (so she doesn't see!) via the church office.
Christian Aid
One of the charities that we support as Trinity Churches is Christian Aid. This weekend they are hosting a coffee morning and lunch in aid of their Gaza appeal.
Trinity Life
The February / March edition of Trinity Life is available at the back of Church and online - do grab a copy for more information about what's coming up in the life of our church.
