Christmas may seem like a distant memory…our road is full of Christmas trees next to the recycling bins, and there is an overflow of wrapping paper and cardboard. But, before it becomes too much of a distant memory, the Ministry Leaders' Team want to say a huge thank you for being part of our celebrations here.
From Carol Services to Carol Singing, Toddlers to Trinity Youth, the Advent Calendar to celebrations with young adults, and Trinity Table to many, many school nativities and so much more… none of it would have been possible without a real team effort. Thank you so much for being part of it whether you were doing it, praying for it or cheering us on. It's hugely appreciated. We had increased numbers at almost all of our services over Christmas, and we're so grateful for the privilege of being able to share that 'Love Came Down' in the person of Jesus Christ 2,000 years ago.
Christmas is a wonderful time to celebrate, but it can often leave January feeling a little bit sparse! So please do make sure you sign up for the 'Beat the January Blues' party – more details below. It will be a great opportunity to 'be family' together.
Grace and Peace
Fi Iddon, Associate Vicar
This Sunday, 11th January, we'll be continuing our new sermon series 'Prayers of the Bible. Our preacher at 9am and CTK will be Nick Webb, with the All Age Team leading the 11am. Peter Madley is speaking and leading at HTBV. In the evening, we'll be beginning our new series, 'Glory', with Kevin Roberts speaking. Trinity Youth will be meeting upstairs in the Trinity Centre at 6.30pm.
Praying for the vacancy process
This is a message from our Parish Representatives, Rachel Woods and Martin Withington, who will be working alongside the Bishop, Archdeacon and our Patron in the process of appointing a new vicar. They write…
This week please be praying…
...that the advert will reach and prompt anyone who God is calling to apply for the role.
...that the Parish Profile and Job Description will be a help prospective candidates to discern whether this is role that God is calling them to.
...for good relations with the Patron who wants to help to the church in this process. Pray that the process will be a real blessing to him.
· ...that God is already working in the heart of the person who will be our next vicar.
...for the current staff team as they recover from a busy Christmas season and prepare for a new year.
Try Praying
We had a great turn out for Try Praying this week, but there is still time to join us if you would like? Or if you know someone else who would like to 'try praying'. Come along to the Trinity Centre at 7.30pm on Wednesday night, and there are more details on the website if you would like them.

Musician's Meet up
It's our musicians' meet up this Thursday from 7pm to 9pm in Church. We'll be spending time having fellowship with one another, worshipping and praying together. Do speak to Louise Houghton for more information.
Beat the January Blues
It's been such a lovely time celebrating together over Christmas that we don't want to leave it behind in January! With that in mind, we are planning a 'Beat the January Blues' party on Saturday 31st January at 5pm. We'll eat some lovely warming pies together – you'll be asked to make a choice when you sign up – and have time for fun and fellowship. We're meeting at 5pm because we want to encourage all ages to be together, and we can cater for any and all dietary requirements.

And finally...
We think that Mousecroft Lane will be closed from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Sunday... If you travel this way to or from church then be aware you will be diverted.
