It is Children's Mental Health Week, and we were delighted to be invited to Meole Brace Primary School on Thursday to create some Prayer Spaces for Key Stage 2 children. It's a real testimony to the natural relationship between church and school that we were asked, alongside other groups, to be part of these activities. And it's wonderful to be able to talk openly with both children and their teachers about how we can bring our worries to God who cares for us.
Throughout the day, classes visited prayer stations that explored themes of, 'I am special', 'I belong' and 'I can share my worries' through prayer, reflection and creative activities. We shared our worries with one another, and with God. We encouraged one another that we are 'fearfully and wonderfully made.' And we reminded one another that we belong as part of His family.
As a church, we treasure our relationship with the primary school, and it was heart-warming to hear so many children listing church as a place that they belong.
We're so thankful to people who gave willingly of their time to make this day happen... If you would like to know more about our ministry in schools, or if you would like to get involved, please do speak to me. It's a wonderful place to be!
Grace and Peace
Cerys Hughes, Minister for Children and Families
This Sunday, 13th January, we'll be continuing our sermon series 'Prayers of the Bible' and will be thinking about what we can learn from Habbakuk about 'Praying with Confidence'. Our preacher at 9am, 11am and CTK will be Kevin Roberts, with Keith Moore at HTBV. Ian Budd will be speaking at the Evening Service. Trinity Youth are not meeting this week as it's half term.
Praying for the vacancy process
As we continue to pray for the process of appointing the next vicar of Trinity Churches please do remember that you are welcome to join the prayer at 10.25 in the Fiwila Room each week. The parish reps will also be holding an hour's prayer the week of the interviews, on Monday 23rd February at 6.30pm, in the Bradbury Hall.
We would like to cover the time of the Familiarisation day and interviews in prayer, so with that in mind we have set up half hour 'pray at home' slots. You can sign up for one of these by using the link below, or at church on Sunday. We are so thankful for all those of us who are committed to praying for the process of appointing our new Vicar.
