Weekly Email w/b 15th June 2026

I'm delighted to share that for the next couple of weeks I will be serving as Anglican Chaplain in Santiago de Compostela. Each day the city welcomes around 3,500 pilgrims, and it is a real joy to meet people from every corner of the globe, hearing many languages and glimpses of very different lives.

At the heart of the Old Town we gather at Igrexia de San Fiz (Saint Felix Church) for prayers, blessings and communion together. This is a simple rhythm that underpins the day and offers a spiritual place of welcome for those arriving weary or elated. The Anglican Pilgrim Centre and Casa Anglicana offer warm hospitality and a peaceful place for reflection and renewal for pilgrims and visitors alike. Mornings and evenings at the Casa Anglicana hostel are full of conversation and shared food, with coffee and toast at dawn, hearty supper and stories at dusk. Boots are dried, friendships form across languages and life stories, and small acts of kindness and a listening ear make a big difference.

The Camino itself is a network of pilgrimage routes leading to Santiago, woven from history, landscape, longing, and people's stories. People walk for many reasons: spiritual renewal, a break from routine, to mark life's transitions, or simply to seek clarity or rest. Along the way you meet people in quiet villages, bustling towns, rolling fields, woodland, and experience the kindness and hospitality of strangers. Expect tired feet and unexpected laughter, stretches of silence, and surprising encounters. There will be stories that stay with you long after the journey ends.

While I'm there I will carry our Trinity Churches family in prayer each day, and I look forward to returning with stories and reflections to share with you all.

This Sunday, 21st June, we'll be continuing our current sermon series on Hebrews in our morning services. Our preacher at 9am and 11am will be Sarah Rozenthuler, with Shirley Stevens speaking at CTK and Fi Iddon at HTBV. The evening service, at 6.30pm, sees our monthly 'Focus Service' when this week we'll be finding out more about, and praying for, some of the amazing work done by the team at Meole Brace Primary School. Trinity Youth will be meeting upstairs in the Trinity Centre as usual.

Praying for those being ordained over the next few weeks

The next few weeks will see various ordinations of past members of Trinity Churches - and we rejoice with them and pray for them. Dave Latcham will be priested this Sunday at Bicton. Then over the next few weeks, Alex Cama will be ordained at Lichfield Cathedral followed by Pauline Mack and Ian Williams at Hereford Cathedral. There were cards in church last Sunday for folk to sign - and if you missed them then they are still in the Church Office.

Archdeacon's Visitation

The Archdeacon's Visitation took place last Monday evening at St Giles Church. Erica Staples, Jenny Surl and Anne Hasnip were all 'admitted to office' for another year. Roy Paterson, CTK District Warden will be admitted as part of a service in the next few weeks. We give thanks for our 'wonderful wardens' and pray for them - that God will continue to provide all that they need for this vital role.

Wedding news!

We've got lots of weddings coming up over the next few weeks at HTMB. Many of you at the 11am (and also 9am and 6.30pm) will have met Scott and Tracy - who have been so delighted to become part of our church family here as they've been preparing for their marriage. They have extended an invitation to those who are able to join them for their wedding service this Thursday, 25th June, at noon.
