Our ‘Praying, Doing, Cheering’ theme for this month is our ministry in Residential Homes.

I’ve been discovering a whole new area of ministry that has been nothing short of a revelation. Residential Home ministry and home communions share the love and presence of Jesus with those who may be unable to attend regular services. They are a wonderful testament to Jesus’ love and the importance of fellowship in our Christian faith. For some, they have been the start of a journey of faith.

God is at work in our Residential Homes with over 150 residents and staff taking part in (generally) monthly services at Lime Trees, Oxbow Manor, Radbrook Nursing Home, Radbrook House, The Ferns, Maesbrook, Briarfields and Sabrina (with the latter two being in Belle Vue Parish). Imagine the joy and comfort from building relationships, offering companionship, and showing that each person is valued and loved. We enjoy fellowship together, singing hymns, reading the Bible, praying, sharing communion and being community together. This is the church living out its love for all members of the community.

Equally, Home Communions are a loving ministry for those who cannot attend Church due to illness or mobility issues. As we worship together, the presence of Jesus is felt deeply, bringing peace and reassurance. As Jesus said, “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them” (Matthew 18:20).

Please do join us in praying for our ministry in residential homes. We have a wonderful team who certainly receive more than they give from these visits, and if you would like to join in then we would love to hear from you.

Grace and Peace

Ian Budd, Curate

We’ll be gathering this Sunday, 6th April, across our parishes as we finish our series on Practicing the Way, thinking this week about what it means to follow Jesus in Community.

At 9am and 11am our speaker is Charles Ruxton, with Keith Moore speaking at CTK. This Sunday it’s Messy Church at HTBV at 9am, followed by the Preschool Easter Service at 11am (note change of time). In the evening at 6.30pm Fi Iddon will be speaking about the Cross. Trinity Youth will also be meeting at 6.30pm and are continuing to explore the book of Colossians

Renewal of the Electoral Roll: it’s (finally!) time…

MB.jpg

Every six years, Anglican Churches up and down the country need to renew their Electoral Roll. This is essentially a list of those people who call Trinity Churches ‘home’ and ‘family’.

We are asking you to complete – either online or on paper – a form to either join, or to renew your membership of, the electoral roll. This isn’t just a paper exercise, but is a really important way of saying, ‘I belong’ to the life of the church both locally and nationally. It seeks to be an indication of the strength of church life, recording the amazing family of God who make up churches across England seeking to be a Christian presence in every community. We’ve done everything we can to make this process as smooth as possible.

Thank you so much to those of you who have already filled in the forms, but there are still a lot more to go! We’ll once again be completing these forms as part of our worship this Sunday, but you can get ‘ahead of the game’ by completing the online form, the link to which is below.

Prayer Spaces in School

Meole Brace Primary School.jpg

If you happen to go past Meole Brace primary school on 7th – 9th April you may see classes of excited children heading to the demountable by the school gates where they will be joining in our annual Prayer Space experience. This year we are exploring Easter through drama (Palm Sunday), reflection (Maundy Thursday) and creativity (Good Friday). We’ll then be pointing them to Easter Sunday which we’ll celebrate together in Church at the School Easter Service later in the week.

Each class joins us for an hour and that means we will be able to share the Easter story with over 350 children and staff. What a privilege it is that we are welcomed and trusted by the school to lead the children in this way. Please pray for the volunteers leading the groups and the school as we share the amazing events of Easter and talk of the love that Jesus has for each person.

Service of Remembering

service of remembering.jpg

On Palm Sunday, 13th April, at 3pm we’ll be holding our twice yearly Service of Remembering. This is an opportunity to remember those who we have loved but who are no longer with us. There are opportunities to light a candle, enjoy the stillness and peace of church, and we’ll read the names of those for whom we have take funerals in the last 18 months or so. We’ll hear again of God’s gifts of faith, hope and love. The service will last about 45 minutes, and will be followed by refreshments.

If you would like a name added to this list: either someone to whom you’ve said goodbye recently, or someone long deceased but still very much on your heart, then please do speak to a member of the clergy or ring the Church Office. Or come along to the service where you’ll be able to give us any names you would like included as you arrive.

Radbrook Community Tea

Do come along to the Radbrook Community Centre this Wednesday for a wonderful afternoon tea… and please do pass on this invitation to anyone who might appreciate it.

Holy Week in a Box

Our Messy Church, Little Buds and Trinity Kids families will all be receiving a small box which allows them to explore the events of Holy Week at home together. Please be praying that, as families read the Bible together, the love of Jesus will be revealed to them in a fresh and deep way.
