This week has been full of preparations for the APCM – our Annual Meeting that takes place a week on Sunday. The office team have worked so hard and been very patient! But as we've been putting together reports and documentation, I've been so very aware of two things.
Firstly, I've been overwhelmed by the goodness of God as we continue to be part of His Story here in Meole Brace, Meole Estate, Radbrook, Sweet Lake and Nobold. The name of Jesus – who is the same yesterday, today and forever – has been proclaimed in this place for over a thousand years. What a privilege to play a small part in the Kingdom that He is building here.
Secondly, I've been so hugely thankful – once again – for the incredible contribution of the many, many people who make up 'Team Trinity' and who are part of God's work here in so many ways. Scripture talks about us being the Body of Christ, and I love the way in which we live this out here in both seen and unseen ways. Each of us are given gifts by the Holy Spirit which enable us, by God's grace, to contribute to the building of His Kingdom in every part of our lives and He Has given them to each one 'just as He determines.'
May we continue to become More Like Jesus as we walk this journey together.
Grace and Peace
Fi Iddon, Associate Vicar
This Sunday, 10th May, we'll be continuing our morning sermon series looking at the book of Hebrews. Our preacher at 9am and CTK will be Alistair Magowan, with the All Age Team leading at 11am and Ian Budd speaking at HTBV. The evening service is looking at 1 Timothy, and Anne Roberts will be speaking. Trinity Youth will be meeting at 6.30pm on Sunday evening.
APCM, and PCC and Deanery Synod Elections
Our APCM, the closest thing that we have to an AGM, takes place next Sunday 17th May at 6.30pm. It's an opportunity to look back with grateful thanks, and look forward with prayerful hope. It's also a chance for people to ask questions in relation to any part of Church Life. As part of this, we will be electing a number of people to serve on the PCC and Deanery Synod. If you might be interested in one of the vacancies (and particularly if you are from our potentially under represented congregations of 9am, CTK and the evening service) then please do have a word with one of the Ministry Leaders team, or with one of the Church Wardens. I'm delighted to say that the wardens are all happy to stand for re-election (though this does not mean you cannot express an interest, should you wish to do so).
The papers for the APCM are now on the website. As part of our commitment to Eco Church, we've printed fewer than usual. Copies are available on Sunday (and we can print more if needed), but if you are able to read online then we would encourage you to do so - using the link below.

God Outdoors: Ascension Day Campfire Service
We are very much appreciating these four weeks exploring 'God Outdoors' and are so grateful to those people who are leading us as we seek to deepen our awareness of the goodness of God.
This Thursday, 14th May, is Ascension Day and we'll be celebrating with a simple campfire service in the Glebe Field at 7pm. Please make sure that you wear suitable footwear, and you may want to bring a camping chair with you. If you would like to 'Ascend the Tower' first, then our Tower Captain Michael will meet you at the Tower Door at 6.30pm. (Our wet weather plan is to meet in church.)
Big Sunday Lunch
Our next Big Sunday Lunch is on Sunday. Those of you who are in groups will should now have all the details. If you aren't in a group, but would appreciate some space around the dinner table – or indeed would like to join a group, then you can sign up via the link below

Half Night of Prayer
As many of you will know, the time between Ascension and Pentecost is a chance for Christians around the world to gather together and pray 'Thy Kingdom Come'. We'll be coming together at Trinity for our termly Half Night of Prayer on Wednesday 20th May as we pray for God's Kingdom to come in the parish here and beyond. As always, you can come and go during the evening - and we encourage everyone to come for at least half a hour if they are able to do so.
Shrewsbury Youth for Christ Quiz Night
Shrewsbury Youth for Christ, one of the charities that we support, is holding a fundraising quiz night two weeks today at Christ Church Bayston Hill. It should be a really fun evening!
Who let the Dads Out?
Our next 'Who let the Dads Out?' takes place on Saturday 16th May at 9.30pm. As well as encouraging you to come along, and to tell others about it, we are still looking for some help with this really important ministry. Please do speak to Jason, Cerys or Ian - or give the Church Office a ring - if you can help.
Holy Trinity Belle Vue Plant Sale
Our friends at HTBV will be holding their annual 'Plant and Craft Sale' on Saturday 16th May. This is always a really lovely occasion. If you have plants to donate then you can drop them down on Friday evening or Saturday morning - or speak to Julian Durbin who will be having a stall for 'Operation Agri' as part of the sale.
Men's Breakfast
Our next Men's Breakfast takes place on Saturday 23rd May at The Harvester (venue change from last time). The speaker is artist Paul Hobbs. You can sign up for this by clicking the link below...
