When we worked with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) some of our colleagues took a team to a country where sharing the gospel was illegal. They hired a local man to drive them around. He wasn't a Christian and didn't speak English. The team had one cassette tape that they played on repeat as they travelled across the country. One song had the lyrics "hosanna, hosanna, hosanna in the highest". Although he didn't understand the meaning, having heard the song so many times, he began to sing along, "Hosanna, hosanna, hosanna!"

At the end of the trip, he asked them what they had been doing all this time, so they told him about Jesus. The driver asked, "Can I become a Christian?" and gave his life to Jesus. All the time he had been singing "Hosanna!" – which most likely means "Save us!" – and God had answered. This week we celebrate 'Palm Sunday' when the crowds waved palms, laid down their cloaks before Jesus, and yelled "Hosanna in the highest heaven".

If you haven't made this your prayer yet, there is no better time, and God loves to answer it, having already given His son for us. And for those who have accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour, this is a time to rejoice and marvel at the great love poured out upon us. Hosanna in the highest! Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! (Luke 19:38).

Holy Week and Easter

Holy Week 2026 (Presentation) (1).jpg

As we make our way through Lent and towards Easter, our Holy Week and Easter Sunday services are on the website. We would love you to join us.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, we'll have a short spoken service of Holy Communion in Church. There will not be a sermon at these services, but simply a time to reflect on the reading of the day in the quiet.

Thursday evening sees the Maundy Thursday meal in the Bradbury Hall for which you will need to 'let us know that you are coming.'

On Good Friday we're gathering as All Ages at 9.30am in Church for a service.
The Hour by the Cross takes place at 9.30am at CTK, and at 2pm at both Holy Trinity Meole Brace and Holy Trinity, Belle Vue. And don't forget the Walk of Witness in town, starting at 10.30am in St Chad's Car Park.

Then on Easter Sunday we've got a Sunrise service (with breakfast!) at 6.30am, and then all our usual Sunday services and much celebration!
