Last Sunday night, Trinity Youth spent an evening on the Glebe Field. Lots of them have been really busy revising for exams and we wanted a session that was relaxing and peaceful. After the obligatory ice creams, we used Lectio Divina to listen to God through Psalm 19 and it was a joy to hear the different ways that the Lord was speaking to us. We then took some time, individually, to walk or sit around the field listening to God. There was such a beautiful sense of God's peace and presence with us.

As I've been reflecting on this special time over the last week, I've felt challenged that such times of stillness in creation are not optional extras but a really important way in which we can know the presence of the Living God. John Calvin famously used the powerful metaphor that Creation is the 'Theatre of God's Glory.' I wonder how we might each take similar opportunities over the weekend ahead to be a visitor to this Theatre?

'The heaven's declare the glory of the Lord, the skies proclaim the work of His hands.' Psalm 19: 1

Grace and Peace

Keen visitors to the Glebe Field will notice that this is an old photo (taken when the young people were enjoying the space last Easter). It's currently full of wild flowers..do come and have a stroll around!

This sunday (1).jpg

This Sunday,
31st May, we'll be remembering that it is Trinity Sunday, alongside continuing our current sermon series on Hebrews in our morning services. Our preacher at 9am, CTK and 11am will be Fi Iddon, with a slightly shorter sermon than usual as it is 'Sunday Social' (see below for more details). Peter Madley will be speaking at HTBV. Ian Budd will be speaking at the evening service as we continue our journey through 1 Timothy. Trinity Youth will need to check the Instagram chat to see if they are meeting this week.

This great photo from last year's Confirmation service reminds us that we'll be holding one again on Sunday 19th July. If you would be interested in being confirmed, then please do have a chat with one of the team. We would love to talk to you!

Sunday Social

IMG_5165.jpg

This Sunday, 31st May, is our termly 'Sunday Social'. This means that we'll have a slightly shorter service, in order to have a longer time of fellowship together after the morning services, across the parish. Being family together is such an important part of our worship, and so this is a good thing to do (with some extra delicious treats!) from time to time. At the 9 and 11am services, this will be coupled with an invitation to wear a name label if you would be happy to do so - in a busy family setting this is often a really helpful way of getting to know one another (but no pressure to do so if you would rather not!)
